Custom Fields have the same properties as regular field data i.e.

  • Custom Fields can be 'starred'

  • Custom Fields can be pinned to Account, Contact OR General Dashboards

  • The data in Custom Fields can be tracked as a metric

  • Custom Fields can be used as filters in Segments

  • Custom Fields data can be used as components in Health Scoring

Pin a Custom Field to a dashboard

First navigate to the Details Tab of an Account record [Below]. On the left-hand-side are listed the existing data sources. Select Custom Fields to see the full list. Hovering on the right-hand-side of the field you will see a pin icon appear, click on this. You will be presented with 2 fields to complete:

Widget Label: How you want the field to be labels in the dashboard

Target Dashboard: Which Dashboard you wish to pin it to. You will notice from the drop-down, you can pin the widget/field to an Account Dashboard (if the field is associated with an Account record), a Contact Dashboard (if the field is associated with a Contact record) AND you can pin it to a General Dashboard (one of the Dashboards associated with Akita's main Dashboard tab).

Once you add the field to a dashboard it will be visible as normal in the Dashboard and you can reposition and resize as required [Below].

Creating Segments using your Custom Fields

Custom fields are available to use as filters when creating Segments. When creating a Segment, click on Add Filter as standard and yu will be presented with the standard drop-down, to find your Custom Field either:

  • Click on Custom Traits and select your Custom Field Name OR

  • Type your Custom Field Name into the Search box at the top of the drop-down and you will see it appear and you can click on it there [Below].

Custom Fields can also be used as Column headers in your Segment table. To find and add the field click on Columns to open the drop-down, you can then either..

  • Type in the field name and click on it when it appears OR

  • Navigate to the field via Account Traits > Custom Traits > Your Custom Field
